I went to New Orleans for a wedding and I chose The St Charles Inn because it was only two blocks from the wedding venue and I intended to walk there. Also, it sits right on the famed St Charles Ave and the trolley car goes right by the hotel.
The property is very nice. It's in an older building and you can see the old architecture around the building. It is not overly opulent but was very clean. While there was nothing wrong with the hotel, I didn't feel it was worth the $250.00 I paid EACH night.
These two pictures above and below, were in their small lobby which doubled as the breakfast area. It had the feel of a bread and breakfast. Another reason I didn't feel that it was worth the $500.00 I paid for both nights was because they only offered a continental breakfast with muffins, cereal and coffee.
This was the hallway leading to my room.
But once in the room, I was pleased. The bedding was opulent and I fell fast asleep in it. Also, the room was immaculently clean. It had a small foyer and the floors were hardwood.
The room did not have alot of color but the furniture pieces were dark cherry and very nice.
The pluses to this property were that it was very clean and right on St Charles and on the trolley line. The only real negative that I felt was that it was over priced for what I got. But the property was nice, nonetheless.
