Just up the street from my home, there is a Mexican restaurant that has Mariachi singers. The singers will go from table to table singing, upon request. And what an atmosphere they lend to this restaurant. The restaurant is called Las Costas Nayaritas. I once asked the waitress what that meant. And she told me that the restaurant was named for a beach along the coast in Mexico.
You'd think a Mexican restaurant would serve chips and salsa upon arrival. But this restaurant serves the above, instead. The meat under those tomatos is so good. I really enjoyed it. But David asked for chips and they brought him a very big helping.
I ordered my favorite which is the Salmon with mushrooms, bread, fries, rice and salad. The rice, especially is so good. The waitress told me that they cook it in butter and it has such a creamy flavor with a soft texture.
In these two pictures, you can see singers singing to the guests at their tables.
David got fajitas which he enjoyed.
Most times when we come here, there are Mariachi singers, in their Mariachi uniforms with their violins. But this time, the guy had an electric guitar and another guy had an acordian and they were not singing boleros. I didn't like it at all. I hope they go back to the more traditional. Plus, it was too loud.
This restaurant has very good food and is a place where one can practice one's Spanish because the waiters and waitresses don't speak English that well. I think that lends to a great Latin atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food and will certainly go back. I've been told that tomorrow, we're going to an Indian restaurant. We both L.O.V.E Indian food.
