After eating at Mary Mac's Tea Room, I left the restaurant and at the end of the building was this street sign. I had been there before and so I knew that I wanted to take a stroll down this tree lined neighborhood street. My mother's name was Myrtle and so I had a special interest in it anyway. I turned right and proceeded down the street.
And I must say that I was almost immediately reminded of uptown in New Orleans. The stately old homes enveloped in trees and wrought iron fences, brought back memories of when I strolled down the Garden District and other areas. So beautiful.
I stepped out into the middle of the street to showcase the beautiful trees on both sides of the street as I headed up Myrtle Street. I loved it!
Walking down a tree lined sidewalk towards the famed Piedmont Park . . .
Not only are the houses on Myrtle Street but there were also three different apartment buldings such as the one below.
Glancing down a side street on Myrtle St. You can see a high rise rising above the trees. Myrtle Street is in midtown which is full of such buildings.
Some more apartments . . .
Not my choice of design style but, hey! . . .
See the highrises of Midtown in the background?
I had come to the end of Myrtle Street at its deadend onto 10th Street and to the entrance of Piedmont Park. What a nice stroll I had.
Thank you for checking out these photos in my scrapbook.
